For over 5 years, HG has been a stockist of the Italian brand, FAST.
Our Director, Joe Muratore, was first attracted to this brand for a few reasons that still ring true.
Firstly, the level of craftsmanship that’s not often seen in outdoor aluminium furniture, was immediately obvious in the product range presented by this Italian family company.
Meeting the family that is FAST, we were impressed by their dedication to the materials. The company has a long history in metals, due to the experience of its founder, Stefano Levrangi, in non-ferrous metal casting. A new generation withing the company had FAST soon exploring the possibilities of furniture manufacturing in aluminium in particular.
Joe was privileged to take a tour of their factory in Italy where the huge investment by FAST in their technology and machinery was evident. Even specially designated X-ray areas check for any imperfections within the castings which could not be spotted with traditional production systems! This commitment has also been matched with their team of skilled craftspeople that ensure attention to detail is observed. Every piece is hand polished, resulting in quality control that has become a reliable statement of their commitment.
Secondly, Joe and the team at HG was searching for a material that would withstand the outdoor conditions that an Australian summer provides. We weren’t satisfied with the performance of many products on the market and we had received requests from some clients for better lasting products that are exposed to the sea air, or who were keen on using their furniture all year ‘round.
The use of high quality aluminium has allowed that. FAST’s founder, Stefano Levrangi, strongly believes in the qualities of this metal: it is light, strong and doesn’t rust. Better still, it remains a maintenance free product that can be cleaned with just a wet cloth. This simplicity of use suits most busy lives and the die-casting production system allows refined finishes you can enjoy. (The paint finishes are also highly regarded and are undertaken with polyester powders which are fixed by special processes to ensure increased protection and colour durability. Aluminium is also an environmentally friendly metal due to its low toxic level and high recyclable potential).
Additionally, over the years we’ve seen that, very quickly, the product range has grown to include both classical and modern pieces by FAST.
Many of our existing clients have enjoyed the classical and well built pieces like the Narcisi and the Contemporary Series. These pieces have a familiar form and an elegance, whilst being constructed in a way that communicates stability. Other clients have enjoyed the nature inspired series of the Forest chair and the flexible and adaptability of the Grande Arche extension tables. These latter 2 ranges remain some of our best selling pieces and FAST have continually offered these in a range of colours to suit all tastes.
