Named for the founder, Pianca creates furniture characterised by elegance and simplicity.
Design and made in Italy, the company is a keen observer of how we live our lives. “We think that the idea of space is becoming less and less definite. Homes are being transformed into offices and offices are getting reorganised to feel as cosy as home”.
Consequently, Pianca specialises in furniture creations that are capable of adapting to the flow of a changing world. Here at HG, we recognise the ability of design to change human behaviour for the better. Pianca aligns itself by acknowledging that design helps us feel at home anywhere – whether we’re at work or at play. Most admirably, Pianca insists on sustainable design because it respects the Earth is comes from and the planet it will leave behind.
With this philosophy, Pianca’s aim is to continually take measures to avoid waste, but also knowing how to adapt to the needs of the future and its myriad of experiences in people’s lives.
A Brand with History
Furniture makers for 14 generations, Pianca are proud of their Italian culture, their commitment to the environment and for their desire to make authentical products designed to endure over time.
Pianca’s history have preserved and enhanced their art of woodworking, choosing clean energy for their systems and certified reclaimed or recycled materials for production.
Their passion for materials and attention to detail have all been handed down to ensure that sustainability is not a goal to be reached, but a path to be followed.
Be it processing materials or production and packing, using environmentally friendly finishes and renewable energy systems, Pianca sit at the forefront of sustainable industrial policies.
Setting the Standard
Raw materials are an important part of Pianca’s ethic. By sourcing the finest raw materials from certified forests with controlled logging, and panels baring no toxic adhesive.
Pianca received FSC® Chain of Custody certification, by committing to the conscious use of natural resource and having traceability to identify the origin of the raw material they use.
Similarly, the production process carries the same ethic – by continually developing manufacturing processes that minimises waste and emissions.
In 2005 Pianca was one of the first Italian companies to revamp their paint system by establishing an industry protocol that requires exclusive use of environmentally friendly water-based paints and varnishes. These changes significantly reduce atmospheric emissions.
A few years later saw Pianca introduce environmentally friendly packaging by using 100% recycled materials. By 2011, Pianca changed to solar power installing a system consisting of 4437 panels, allowing them to essentially target of using 100% renewable energy.
The Finishing Details
With so much invested in their conscious considered production, Pianca continues to invest in a team of talented designers, all with their own flair and style. Each designer brings a different expertise when handling certain materials, and these perspectives results in beautifully crafted collections.
This comprehensive product offering is what attracted HG Furniture Solutions to the brand. “Pianca is a brand that’s been around for many, many years”, says Joe Muratore, Founder of HG Furniture. “The company is very well respected, and they offered products suitable for the Australian market at reasonable prices. For example, not all European brands offer beds at Australian sizes, but Pianca does. They also offer unique and specialised designs in beds, bedsides, chairs and coffee tables in particular”.

Recognitions
With a solid reputation for innovation and design, Pianca continues to receive awards. Most recently they were the iF Design Award 2022 for 2 of their new designs. The iF Design Awards is a prestigious prize for excellence and creativity, and these were presented for the Palu bedside table by Raffaella Mangiarotti and the Embrace bed by Note Design Studio.
HG Furniture Solutions is pleased to offer these products by Pianca. The Embrace Bed is one that is suitable for Australian sized mattresses and can offer underbed storage or room to accommodate a receded mattress. The soft, curved headboard gives it an inviting and refined appearance with a unique design.
