Brett Mickan Designs | Finalist 33rd Dulux Colour Awards

Congratulations to those winners and competitors of the 33rd Dulux Colour Awards!

The Colour Awards by Dulux have 8 categories: Grand Prix; Grand Prix New Zealand; Residential Interior; Commercial Interior Workplace and Retail; Commercial Interior Public and Hospitality; Commercial and Multi Residential Exterior; Single Residential Exterior; and Student category).

Projects are judged on how colour has been used to enhance and transform the project through Creativity and Innovation. A key determining factor in the judging process was the rationale behind the use and choice of colour in the project.

Known for his use of colour, Finalist Brett Mickan has over 20 years’ experience in the design field. Winner of awards both in Australia and the United States, Brett Mickan Designs was selected as a Finalist in the Residential Interior category for 2019.

Blending contemporary families with period architecture in a way that is aesthetically beautiful, liveable, functional and original, Brett Mickan Designs chose the Lyla Table by Studio Pip as part of the Stanton Road project

All finalists were judged by an external panel of design professionals, notably Carole Whiting, Director of Carole Whiting Interiors + Design, Mardi Doherty, Director of Doherty Design Studio, Matt Gibson, Director of Matt Gibson Architecture + Design, Rosa Coy, Director of Coy Yiontis Architects and Simon Farrell-Green, Editor of HOME New Zealand.

All competitors were required to display how Dulux colour was utilised to enhance the project space.

Coincidentally, the Lyla Table by Studio Pip also uses Dulux colour, specifically colours from the Dulux Duralloy Powder Coat Range.
